Each tiny object is carefully modelled and painted by hand and encapsulated in resin. After several further processes this is finally polished to give a glass clear view into another world. For pieces which are currently available, please check shop section.

I draw and paint to capture something elusive - a memory, atmosphere or figure moving through a landscape. Images collected in sketchbooks over many years may eventually find their way into a miniature piece of jewellery or as a larger, wooden character in a diorama.

Much of the work I make is concerned with storytelling, through collections of objects and drawings. In two separate research projects undertaken over the past decade, I have sought to explore the potential relationship between imagery and object in book form.
The first project, 'A Miscellany of Automata' culminated in a small editioned catalogue which documented a series of automata made in response to a local landmark.
Whilst studying Sequential Design/ Illustration at Masters level led to a second, hand bound book entitled 'Harbour'.

I undertake commissions ranging from automata for public display to 'Memento Mori' jewellery for private clients.

I have experience of running workshops in a range of settings, from galleries and museums to schools and colleges with all age ranges.
As an associate lecturer in a higher education institution, I regularly work on the drawing program of a Foundation Diploma alongside Illustration students.
I am able to offer one-to-one tuition to those wishing to improve their drawing skills and can tailor broader craft based workshops for small groups. Please use the email form in the contact section if you would like more details.
